Warnings and caution for the NEW WITCH

As with any new spiritual path, being a Witch can be especially challenging at times. A Witch has the societal stigma attached to her/him because many will never understand what TRUE witchcraft is, but this should never stop her or him, for there will always remain ignorant people that will judge even if you were NOT a witch. In the end, no matter what we do, we are still at the mercy of other people's opinions, therefore, we should make decisions that make US feel good; if we lived only to please others we would drive ourselves insane. It is everyone's responsibility to find their own path to their beliefs and happiness. The best way to tackle any kind of judgment is to understand the perpetrator is operating from fear, and it is our duty to correct those vibrations with love and communication. Opening up to people and letting them know the beauty and love that IS the craft, will slowly reverse the biases that are passed. Also understand that there are negative people that also practice the craft and DO perform bad deeds in the name of It, just as Christian pastors can spread evil amongst their congregation as well, however we should not let that interfere with our paths to peace.

In addition to the stigma, since we Witches have an uncanny ability to tap into the energies of the universe at will, it is sufficed to say that darker energies can also try to converge with the lighter energies. Just as there is a yin and a yang, there are positive and negative. We all know how the negative feels, we have all experienced negative people and circumstances. We must understand that in our work, we must do our best to combat and avoid negative energies. Not everyone or every "thing" is filled with love and light, people pass through deaths walls every day clinging to their fears/jealousies/anger/hatred, and they have every right to cling onto those vibrations if they wish, as it is a free willed universe. When a witch encounters that kind of energy, she must not be afraid of it, but to confront it and heal it love. Eventually, all energies DO return to love, but in their own time, and can wreak havoc in the meantime. A Witch should always be self-aware and protect herself, just as you would if you went walking at night down a dark street, and though I am speaking more metaphorically, we should also be careful at all times of our physical surroundings. Always be armed and ready with the light of your spirit guides, your angels, your intuition, and your insight and understanding of such things. The more you are aware, the more a productive and positively influential person you will be!

Using discernment and discretion with your jewelry, garments, and adornments is something we must each decide for ourselves. For some of us, our path embodies us unconditionally and unabashedly. We will always naturally wear black, be drawn to bright or dark colored hair and make up, tattoos, and we may carry ourselves proudly, or fearfully. Some of us have the freedom to openly wear our path on our sleeve while others of us must keep it to ourselves. Since this is a no judgment religion, it is completely up to you how and when you express yourself and your beliefs but understand outside of your non judgmental brothers and sisters, lie those who aren't so forgiving. For me, it is pretty obvious to the world I am who I am, and I am unapologetic, taking the time to explain to people when questioned that NO, I am NOT a devil worshiper... and I only want the highest LOVE for you, you, and you... but I understand not all practitioners wish to be open ones. We love you just the same!

As we all might be familiar, from June to September of 1692, 19 men and women, accused of Witchcraft, were hung on Gallows Hill near Salem Village, Massachusetts. Hundreds of others faced accusations while dozens remained in jail for months without trials, then, almost as soon as it had begun, the hysteria that swept through Puritan Massachusetts ended. Meanwhile thousands of lives were affected similarly in Europe and many more lives would be affected forever, who still carry the burden of this atrocity in remembrance of those that perished for our religious freedoms today. Though we should NEVER see a repeat of what happened in Salem here in America, or hopefully anywhere else in the world, it is still important to stand up for our beliefs and continue to educate the ignorant about what our spiritual path is really about. It seems most spiritual paths have not been without their share of persecution, but for our future generations of practitioners, we must keep the path both sacred and true, and continue to spread light, love, and understanding to those with closed hearts. After all, you are on this path for a reason.

Blessings always! ~LS
